Landon's Project

Location: Funkstown, MD

Through a powerful community collaboration, Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) has partnered with Wade Architecture to deliver the initial redesign for the new WCPS Therapeutic Center for Adaptive Learning. Endorsed by Superintendent Dr. David Sovine, Landon’s Project integrates leading-edge, healthy learning concepts specifically tailored for unique learners. The adaptive design utilizes innovative features such as sensory objects in hallways to assist with transitions, acoustic ceiling panels and homogeneous rubber tiling to minimize acoustic distractions, and pastel color schemes for clear wayfinding. By uniting educational, medical, and business resources, this state-of-the-art public facility creates a highly supportive environment designed to help students realize their full potential and build a brighter future for the entire community.
